Ph-China talks sa WPS gas development, dapat ituloy – Sen. Robin Padilla
Sinabi ni Senator Robin Padilla na dapat nang ituloy ang pag-uusap ng Pilipinas at China para sa paghahanap ng langis sa West Philippine Sea.
Naniniwala ang baguhang senador na ito ang isa sa maaring solusyon sa pagsirit ng presyo ng langis sa sa pandaigdigang pamilihan.
Binanggit ni Padilla sa inihain niyang Senate Resolution No. 9 ang memorandum of understanding on Cooperation on Oil and Gas Development sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa noong Nobyembre 2018.
Nakasaad sa resolusyon ang paghimok ni Padilla kay Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. na ipagpatuloy ang pag-uusap alinsunod sa nabanggit na kasunduan.
Diin pa ng senador, sa kasunduan, hindi naman isinusuko ng Pilipinas ang karapatan sa bahagi ng West Philippine Sea.
“The new administration has the opportunity to resume the bilateral talks with the People’s Republic of China for purposes of cooperation in the WPS on gas and oil development without bargaining the sovereign rights of the Philippines on the disputed territories therein,” ang pagpupunto ni Padilla.
