WATCH: DepEd, hinayaan ang NBI na mag-imbestiga sa umano’y harassment sa mga estudyante ng PHSA
Wala nang ginawang internal investigation ang Department of Education (DepEd) kaugnay sa alegasyon na may harrassment sa mga estudyante ang ilang opisyal ng Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) sa Laguna.
Ayon kay Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte, magiging bias kasi kung ang DepEd ang magsasagawa ng imbestigasyon.
Sa halip aniya na DepEd, nakipag-ugnayan na lamang ang kanilang hanay sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) para magsagawa ng imbestigasyon bilang ‘third party.’
Nabatid na ang PHSA sa Mt. Makiling, Laguna ay isang state-run public high school para sa gifted young artists.
“Hindi na po kami nag-imbestiga within the Department of Education Central Office dahil I would expect na mayroong mga biases na mangyayari diyan dahil nasa loob ng institusyon ang gumagawa ng imbestigasyon. Kaya po nilagay na namin sa third party ‘yung investigation,” pahayag ni Duterte.
Nakiusap si Duterte na isumite kaagad sa DepEd ang resulta ng imbestigasyon.

Nakaranas umano ng sexual, verbal, at emotional abuse ang mga estudyante.
