Tinatayang nagkakahalaga ang mga ilegal na produkto ng P66,000.
Ayon sa drayber ng trak na si Rustom Galib at kaniyang kasamahan na si Kenneth Dalala, kapwa residente ng Caloocan City, nagmula ang trak sa Maynila at patungo sana sa General Santos City.
Nakumpiska ng mga awtoridad ang mga ukay-ukay dahil sa paglabag sa Republic Act 4653 o “an Act to safeguard the health of the people and maintain the dignity of the nation by declaring it a national policy to prohibit the commercial importation of textile articles commonly known as used clothing and rags.”
Dinala naman sa Bureau of Customs (BOC) Region V ang 10-wheeler wing van truck at nakumpiskang kagamitan.
Samantala, pinayagan namang makauwi sina Galib at Dalala pabalik sa kanilang tahanan matapos ang imbestigasyon.
