Ilang DOT offices, pinagpapaliwanag sa COA report ukol sa pagwawaldas ng pondo

Inatasan na ng pamunuan ng Department of Tourism (DOT) ang mga kinauukulang tanggapan na nasa ilalim ng kanilang pangangasiwa na makipagtulungan sa Commission on Audit (COA) ukol sa napunang sinasabing maling paggamit ng pondo.

Sa inilabas na pahayag ng kagawaran, ipinagbilin din ang pagsunod sa COA at pagsusumite ng lahat ng mga dokumento kaugnay sa kinuwestiyong transaksyon.

Nabanggit din sa pahayag na ang mga kinuwestiyon na transaksyon ay nangyari sa administrasyon ni dating Tourism Sec. Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.

“The DOT’s current administration maintains that the transactions flagged by COA must be properly addressed by the accountable persons and offices involved as transparency and accountability in the affairs of the Department is a firm commitment of the current dispensation,” ayon sa kagawaran.

Isinapubliko ng COA ang pagpuna sa paggasta ng DOT ng higit P3.8 milyon sa hotel accommodations at pagkain noong nakaraang taon.
