MMDA binawi ang ipinahiram na motorcycle escorts sa gov’t officials

Bilang suporta sa kampaniya laban sa ilegal na paggamit ng ‘wang-wang,’ binawi na ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang ipinahiram nilang motorcycle escorts sa mga opisyal ng gobyerno.

Sinabi ni MMDA officer-in-charge (OIC) Melgar Baltazar na tatalima sila sa polisiya ng PNP – Highway Patrol Group sa paggamit ng ‘blinkers’ at sirena.

Aniya, nag-isyu na siya ng memorandum na nagbabawal sa lahat ng kanilang mga opisyal at kawani sa paggamit ng ‘wang-wang.’

Dagdag pa ni Baltazar, gagamitin lamang ang emergency devices sa kanilang mga sasakyan sa aktuwal na pagtupad lamang ng tungkulin.

“For authorized use of wang-wang and blinkers, the vehicle must be a marked government property which is used only during official functions or performance such as emergency response and law enforcement,” ani PCapt. Bingsky Foncardas, ang legal officer ng PNP-HPG.
