Global public health advocates pinalagan paghihigpit sa vaping products

Inalmahan ng international public health advocates ang mapanikil na regulasyon at polisiya sa vaping products sa maraming bansa.

Sinabi ng mga eksperto na nagiging balakid pa ito sa mga hakbang na mabawasan ang pinsalang idinudulot ng produktong tabako sa bilyong katao sa buong mundo.

Anila, mas mahigpit pa ang mga regulasyon sa e-cigarettes, snus, nicotine pouches at heated tobacco products (HTPs) kumpara sa sigarilyo.

Sinabi ni Dr. Roberto Sussman, ng National University of Mexico, na ito ay dahil sa mga ipinapakalat na maling impormasyon ng maiimpluwensiyang anti-vaping groups ukol sa nicotine at smoke-free products.

“Anti-vaping sources such as the World Health Organization (WHO), academics, regulators, anti-tobacco NGOs, groups funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies act as merchants of doubt when citing and quoting flawed studies to cast unjustified doubt and confusion on the safety of vaping,” ani Sussman.

Sa Pilipinas, maraming grupo ang patuloy na ipinanawagan ang pagbabawal sa smoke-free alternatives, na napatunayan na ng siyensa na mas mabuti kumpara sa sigarilyo.

Sa Amerika, ipinanawagan na ni Lindsey Stroud, director ng Taxpayers Protection Alliance’s Consumer Center sa US Food and Drug Administration, na kilalanin ang kabutihan ng smoke-free products.

“Ultimately, states and the FDA must recognize the potential of e-cigarettes to reduce smoking rates,” aniya.

Samantala, sa Germany, pinuna ni Norber Schmidt, miyembro ng IG-ED, isang German vaping consumers organization, ang isinusulong na tax calculation ay base sa mga maling pag-iisip.
