CCC, DOTr, ilang transport group, isinulong ang low-carbon transportation system
Nagkasundo ang Climate Change Commission (CCC), Department of Transportation (DOTr), at iba’t ibang transport group sa pagsusulong sa low-carbon at sustainable development sa sektor ng transportasyon.
Ito ay para matupad ng Pilipinas ang pangako sa Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC).
Ayon kay CCC Secretary Robert Borje, malaki na ang nagawa ng bansa sa sustainable and low-carbon transportation system.
Kinilala ni Borje ang DOTr dahil sa pagsusulong ng low-carbon initiatives para sa transport sector at isaa sa mga unang ahensya na bumuo ng greenhouse gas inventory team.
Ang DOTr din aniya ang unang nakapagsumite ng quantified mitigation measures sa NDC at CCC.
“We need to be transformative as we transition the transport sector to low carbon development. We need to forge partnerships, unlock access to finance and technology, and operate in a whole-of-nation approach towards an effective and transformative low carbon transport sector – a transformation that would benefit everyone,” pahayag ni Borje.
Base sa 2010 National Greenhouse Gas Inventory, nasa pangatlong puwesto ang transport sector bilang pinakamalaking emitter sector na may 24.17 metric tons ng carbon dioxide equivalent na ibinubuga.
