Inanunsiyo ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED) ang pagbawi sa ipinapatupad na moratorium na nagbabawal sa mga bagong public at private colleges sa pag-aalok ng nursing programs.
Paalala ni CHED Chair Prospero de Vera, ipinatupad ang moratorium noong 2011 dahil sa ‘oversupply’ ng nursing graduates sa bansa.
Ngunit aniya ito ay kanilang pinag-aralan sa kasagsagan ng pandemya dulot ng COVID 19.
Kabilang din sa ipinatigil ang lahat ng undergraduate at graduate programs sa business administration, teacher education, hotel and restaurant management at information technology education.
Ikinatuwiran sa hakbang ang pagbaba ng performance ng nursing at teacher education indikasyon na hindi bumubuti ang mga programa.
