Dalawang Ambassador, nag-courtesy call kay Mayor Lacuna
Nag-courtesy call si Embassy of Ireland to the Philippines Ambassador William John Carlos kay Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, araw ng Martes (Hulyo 12).
Isa sa mga natalakay ng dalawang opisyal ang iba’t ibang kultura ng bansa.
“The sense of identity that I felt in the Philippines is strong; it is important we can connect with who we are,” paliwanag ni Irish Ambassador Carlos.
Ibinahagi rin nito na humigit-kumulang 20,000 Filipinos ang nagtatrabaho sa Ireland, kung saan karamihan ay nasa house sector.
“They have received recognition from the Irish President, and we will work hard to ensure that Filipinos are respected enough in Ireland,” saad nito.
Tiniyak naman ni Lacuna-Pangan na welcome ang Irish community sa Lungsod ng Maynila.
“We’re looking forward to building a more lasting relationship with your country,” pahayag ng alkalde.
Samantala, nag-courtesy call din si Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian kay Mayor Lacuna-Pangan.
Napag-usapan nina Lacuna-Pangan at Huang ang pagkakaibigan ng Maynila at China sa mga nakalipas na taon.
Nagpasalamat din ang alkalde sa Ambassador dahil sa mga tulong na ibinigay ng China sa gitna ng pandemya.
Dagdag nito, “I do hope you would continue this kind of relationship and cooperation with Manila.”
