Sec. Bautista ipinag-utos sa PPA na bawasan ang shipping, travel costs

Nagsagawa ng surprise visit si Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista sa Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) upang maging pamilyar sa operasyon nito, araw ng Huwebes (Hulyo 7).

Ipinahayag ng kalihim sa mga opisyal ng ahensya ang kaniyang planong ma-develop ang port industry at mapaganda ang mga benepisyo ng shippers at biyahero.

“As we wait for the appointment of your General Manager, which will happen in the next couple of days, please make sure to further reduce shipping and travel costs nationwide and maintain the high quality of service in all ports,” pahayag ni Bautista.

Dagdag nito, “All employees should also observe and maintain their integrity and transparency at all times to avoid tainting the reputation of Government service.”

Ipingako rin ng kalihim ang kaniyang buong suporta sa ahensya, partikular na sa government-to-government interconnectivity, information and communication technology, personnel recruitment katuwang ang Civil Service Commission.

Bago ang appointment ni Bautista sa kagawaran, nakumpleto na ng PPA ang 248 seaport development projects, na parte ng 586 completed seaport projects sa ilalim ng liderato ni dating DOTr Secretary Art Tugade.

Sa susunod na 100 araw, nakatakdang kumpletuhin ng ahensya ang pito pang seaport projects.

“The Philippine Ports Authority will play a very important role in achieving the goal of the president for accessible, affordable, comfortable, and safe transportation. Help me achieve that desire of the President to help the riding public,” ani Bautista.
