Sen. Win Gatchalian hindi pa kumbinsido sa suspensyon ng fuel excise taxes
Mapait pa rin sa panlasa ni Senator Sherwin Gatchalian ang mga panukalang suspindihin ang excise tax na ipinapatong sa mga produktong-petrolyo.
Katuwiran ni Gatchalian, aabot sa P160 bilyon na kita ng gobyerno ang mababawasa kung pansamantalang aalisin ang fuel excise tax.
Sinabi nito, malaki ang naturang halaga at aniya kailangan na kailangan ng pondo ng bansa para sa mga subsidiya at iba pang gastusin.
Paglilinaw naman ng senador bukas pa naman ang kanyang isipan ukol sa mga panukala.
“But I am not closing my door on that. We really need to study the proposal carefully because if we look at the news, it seems there is no end to the situation in Ukraine,” dagdag pa ng namumuno sa Senate Committee on Energy.
