Comelec, ipalililinaw sa OSG ang desisyon ng SC sa Agoo mayoralty election

Magpapasaklolo ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) kaugnay sa inilabas na resolusyon ng Korte Suprema sa mayoralty election sa Agoo, La Union.

Ayon kay Comelec spokesman Atty. John Rex Laudiangco, ang paglapit nila sa OSG ay bahagi ng standard protocol.

Kinumpirma naman ni Laudiangco na natanggap na nila ang resolusyon ng Korte Suprema na naglalaman ng temporary restraining order (TRO) at status quo ante order (SQAO), Miyerkules ng hapon (Hulyo 6).

Bunga nito, hindi muna maipapatupad ang resolusyon ng Comelec noong Mayo 13 na kinansela ang certificate of candidacy ni Frank Ong Sibuma.

Araw ng Martes, Hulyo 5, iprinoklama ng komisyon si Stefanie Ann Eriguel – Calongcagon bilang nanalong alkalde ng bayan, na nanumpa naman kay Sen. Nancy Binay.
