G7 nations nabahala sa tensyon sa South China Sea

Nabahala ang group of seven o G7 nations sa tumitinding tensyon sa asya bunsod ng maritime dispute sa West Philippine Sea o South China Sea at East China Sea.

Iginiit ng grupo sa inilabas nilang declaration sa pagtatapos ng dalawang araw na summit sa Japan ang kahalagahan ng mapayapang pagresolba sa territorial dispute.

Ayon pa sa grupo, dapat igalang ang freedom of navigation at overflight sa disputed islands.

“We are concerned about the situation in the East and South China Seas, and emphasize the fundamental importance of peaceful management and settlement of disputes,” bahagi ng G7 declaration.

Sa gitna ito ng pagiging agresibo ng China sa mga pinag-aagawang isla sa West Philippine Sea maging sa East China Sea.

Binuweltahan naman ng Beijing ang G7 at sinabing dapat intindihin ng grupo ang obligasyon nito na economic cooperation sa halip na pakialaman ang China.

“G7 should focus on its own duties, that is economic cooperation, it should not point fingers at something outside its portfolio,” pahayag ni Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying.
