Divorce Bill ihahain ni Sen. Pia Cayetano sa 19th Congress

Inanunsiyo ni Senator Pia Cayetano ang kanyang plano na ihain muli sa pagbubukas ng 19th Congress ang kontrobersyal na Divorce Bill.
“With all due respect to the religious community, I think all of them understand that there are circumstances where women, in particular, but it can happen to men of course, their lives endangered, both their mental and physical well-being are jeopardized,” katuwiran ng senadora.
Sinabi pa nito na napakahalaga na maprotektahan ang dalawang partido.
Taon 1999 pa sinimulang isulong ang Divorce Bill ngunit hindi ito nakakalusot sa parehong kapulungan ng Kongreso dahil sa pagkontra ng maraming religious groups.
Sa katatapos na 18th Congress, ang ipinanukalang Absolute Divorce Act ay naaprubahan ng House Committee on Population and Family Relations, ngunit hindi naman umabot sa plenaryo.
Sa President-elect Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., ay napa-ulat na pabor sa pagkakaroon ng diborsiyo sa bansa.
