Oil and gas exploration talks ng ‘Pinas, China pinatuldukan ni PDuterte

Pinatapos na ni Pangulong Duterte ang pakikipag-usap ng Pilipinas sa China para sa joint oil and gas exploration. Ito ang ibinahagi ni outgoing Foreign Affairs Sec. Teddyboy Locsin at aniya walang nangyari sa tatlong taon na pag-uusap ng dalawang bansa. “The President had spoken. I carried out his insructions to the letter: oil and gas discussions are terminated completely. Nothing is pending everything is over,” aniya. Dagdag pa ni Locsin; “three years on and we had not achieved our objective of developing oil and gas resources so critical for the Philippines but not at the price of sovereignty; not even a particle of it.” Sa kabila ng isyu ng pag-aagawan ng bahagi ng West Philippine Sea, pumirma ang dalawang bansa ng memorandum of understanding noong 2018 para sana sa joint oil and gas exploration sa naturang rehiyon. Makalipas ang dalawang taon, binawi pa ni Pangulong Duterte ang moratorium on oil exploration sa West Philippine Sea na ipinag-utos ni yumaong Pangulong Noynoy Aquino.
