Humingi ng mga suhestiyon si Senator Imee Marcos sa Department of Energy (DOE) para matulungan ang mga sektor na lubhang apektado nang pagtaas ng presyo ng mga produktong-petrolyo.
Binanggit niya na nakaka-engganyo ang ‘nuclear energy’ ngunit kailangan ng mahabang panahon para maisakatuparan ito.
‘Maybe we are looking for quick wins in the next few months because we will be faced with this problem and the sectors that will be impacted are si large – transport and agriculture and neither of which will benefit from the nuclear proposal just yet,” ayon sa namumuno sa Senate Committee on Economic Affairs.
Sa isinagawang consultative meeting kaugnay sa serye ng oil price hikes ng Senate Committee on Energy na pinamumunuan ni Sen. Win Gatchalian, inamin ni Energy Usec. Gerardo Erquiza Jr., na malaking hamon ang pagtugon sa mataas na halaga ng langis.
Aniya ang isa sa maaring mabilis at madaling gawin na pagtulong ay ang pagbibigay ng subsidiya.
Hinihikayat din niya ang ibayong pagtitipid sa mga konsyumer.
