Booster shots sa immunocompromised adolescents simulang ibibigay ngayon
Inaasahan na ngayon araw ay sisimulan na ang pagtuturok ng booster shot sa mga nasa edad 12 hanggang 17 na immunocompromised.
Nabatid na sa mga napiling ospital sa Metro Manila unang magbibigay ng pediatric booster shots.
Ito ay sa National Children’s Hospital at Quirino Memorial Medical Center, parehong sa Quezon City.
Sinabi ni Usec. Myrna Cabotaje na sa ibang lugar sa bansa ay depende sa kahandaan ng mga hospital-based vaccination sites at maaring magsimula naman sila bukas.
Base sa guidelines ang mga natukoy na immunocompromised adolescents ay ang mga tumatanggap ng cancer treatment, sumailalim sa organ transplant at stem cell transplant, may immunodeficiency, at may advanced HIV infection.
Gayundin ang sumasailalim sa active treatment ng high-dose corticosteroid, dialysis, at ang may autoimmune disease.
