Ex-AFP chief of staff General Jose Faustino, itinalaga bilang Senior Undersecretary at OIC ng DND
Itinalaga ni incoming President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. si retired AFP chief of staff General Jose Faustino bilang Senior Undersecretary and Officer-in-Charge of the Department of National Defense (DND).
Ayon kay incoming Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Trixie Angeles, nakipagpulong si Marcos kay Faustino, kasama si incoming National Security Adviser Clarita Carlos, araw ng Huwebes (Hunyo 16).
Pero dahil katatapos lamang magretiro ni Faustino noong Nobyembre 12, 2021, sa Nobyembre 13, 2022 pa ito makaupo sa puwesto.
Ito ay bilang pagtalima sa one-year ban ng appointment ng retired military officers sa ilalim ng Republic Act 6975.
Si Faustino ay nagtapos sa Philippine Military Academy “Maringal” Class of 1988.
Nagsilbi ring commander ng Joint Task Force Mindanao at commanding General ng Philippine Army si Faustino bago naitalagang AFP Chief of Staff.
