Nora Aunor, pitong iba pa ideneklarang National Artists
Ideneklara ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang na National Artist for 2022 si Superstar Nora Aunor o Nora Villamayor.
Itinanghal si Auunor sa National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts kasama ang screenwriter at novelist na si Ricky Lee at ang namayapang director na si Marilou Diaz-Abaya.
Itinanghal naman na National Artist for Dance ang choreographer na si Agnes Locsin habang ang pioneering couturier na si Salvacion Lim-Higgins ay sa Design (Fashion); literary critic Gemino Abad para sa Literature; soprano Fides Cuyugan-Asensio para sa Music at stage director at ang aktor na Tony Mabesa para sa Theater.
Ideneklara ang bagong National Artists sa pamamagitan ng Proclamation No. 1390 na inisyu ng Malakanyang.
Una rito, inirkoemnda ng National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) at Cultural Center of the Philippines ang walo sa Malakanyang nag awing National Artists.
Nabatid na ang mga awardee ay makatatanggap ng gold-plated medallion ng Bangko Sentral ng PIlipinas.
Makatatanggap ang mga awardees ng lifetime emolument at material and physical benefits gaya ng minimum P200,000 cash award at minimum lifetime personal monthly stipend ng P50,000 para sa mga living awardees.
Mayroon ding medical and hospitalization benefits na hindi hihigit sa P750,000 kada taon; life time insurance policy ng Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).
Makatatanggap naman ng P150,000 ang mga posthumous awardees.
