Itinalaga si Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Socorro Inting bilang acting chairman ng poll body.
Ito ay matapos hindi makalusot sa Commission on Appointment si dating Comelec Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan.
Ayon kay Comelec Director Frances Arabe, naging epektibo ang bagong posisyon ni Inting simula noong June 2.
Si Inting ay dating chairman ng Comelec’s Committee on the Ban on Firearms and Safety Concerns subalit nagbitiw sa pwesto matapos mag protesta nang amyendahan ang gun ban rules and regulations.
Bukod kay Pangarungan, hindi rin nakalusot sa CA dahil sa kawalan ng quorum sina Comelec Commissioners George Garcia at Aimee Torrefranca-Neri.
