Mama-o, pumalag sa kautusan ni Bello na humaharang sa reassignment ng POEA officials
Pumalag si Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Abdullah Mama-o sa memorandum ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III na humaharang sa reassignment ng mga opisyal ng Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA).
Ayon kay Mama-o, walang legal na basehan ang pahayag ni Bello na hindi pa nag-e-exist ang DMW.
Ayon kay Mama-o, nasa initial stage ng implementasyon na ang DMW bilang isang hiwalay na departmento ng gobyerno.
Nanindigan pa si Mama-o na dahil nasa initial implementation at transition period na ang DMW, may kapangyarihan na ang kalihim na gamitin ang kapangyarihang nakapaloob sa posisyon.
“So, Mr. Secretary, please stop now. I plead with you to respect the implementing agency, and most importantly our migrant workers,” pahayag ni Mama-o.
