Comelec ipinaliwanag ang pagkawala ng certificates of canvass
Idinahilan ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) ang ‘procedural error’ sa pagkawala ng ilang certificates of canvass (COCs).
Ipinagpaliban kagabi ng National Board of Canvassers sa Kongreso ang canvassing of votes mula sa Surigao del Sur, Pampanga at Sultan Kudarat dahil sa mga nawawalang COCs.
Paliwanag ni Atty. John Rex Laudiangco, tagapagsalita ng Comelec, ang pagkakamali ay sa bahagi ng kanilang mga tauhan, partikular na sa Provincial Board of Canvassers.
Aniya nakipag-usap na ang mga kinauukulang tauhan ng Comelec sa NBOC sa Kongreso at isusumite din ngayon araw ang mga kinakailangan dokumento.
Una nang binatikos ni Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri ang Comelec bunga nang pagkakadiskubre na may mga nawawalang COCs’.
“They have only one job and one job to do, the provincial election supervisors, which is to insert the COCs of the province of the results of the president and vice president into the ballot box and deliver it to the Senate,” diin ni Zubiri.
