Pumanaw na si dating San Jose, Occidental Mindoro Mayor Jose Tapales Villarosa sa edad na 79.
Inanunsiyo ito ng kaniyang anak na si Atty. Bunny Villarosa-Kalaw sa pamamagitan ng Facebook post.
“As mush as we would like to feel your tight hugs or presence to give us comfort in this difficult time, we appreciate you joining our online services, and will also welcome an onsite traditional wake at Capilla de San Francisco at the Santuario de San Antonio from Wednesday to Friday this week,” pahayag nito.
Dagdag pa nito, “Whether you join us onsite or online, we appreciate your prayers for the eternal repose of our beloved Dad’s soul.”
Hindi naman nabanggit ng pamilya kung ano ang sanhi ng pagpanaw ni Villarosa.
Maliban sa pagiging alkalde noong 2010 hanggang 2013, magugunitang nagsilbi rin si Villarosa bilang kongresista ng naturang probinsya mula 1992 hanggang 1998 at gobernador noong 2001 hanggang 2004.
