Nagpaabot ng pagbati si Senador Bong Go sa mga Filipinong atleta na lumalahok sa 31st Southeast Asian Games sa Hanoi, Vietnam.
Ayon kay Go, chairman ng Senate Committee on Sports, isang malaking karangalan ang iniuuwi ng mga atleta sa bansa.
Sa ngayon, nasa 28 medalya na ang nasusungkit ng mga atleta.
Unang nakakuha ng gintong medalya para sa Pilipinas si Mary Francine Padios sa women’s pencak silat seni tunnggal.
Nakakuha rin ng gintong medalya si Olympian Carlos Yulo sa individual all-around event sa gymnastics.
“As Chair of the Senate Committee on Sports, I offer my heartfelt gratitude and admiration to each and every one of you for your unwavering devotion to our country via sports and for sustaining the real spirit of patriotism,” pahayag ni Go.
Pangako ni Go, patuloy niyang isusulong ang kapakanan at interes ng mga atleta.
“Your sacrifice and commitment is something we are truly grateful for. Maraming salamat sa pagpapakita ng inyong angking galing sa larangan ng sports,” pahayag ni Go.
“I wish the rest of the Team Philippines a very good luck as we defend our overall championship. The Filipino people are all behind you!” dagdag ni Go.
