Inihayag ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na maaring palawigin ang voting hours para sa 2022 National and Local Elections.
May ilang polling precincts kasi na mahaba pa rin ang pila ng mga botanteng hindi pa nakakaboto.
Sa press briefing, sinabi ni Comelec chair Saidamen Pangarungan na maaring palawigin ang voting hours.
“Ang batas pagdating ng 7:00 ng gabi, kung may mga tao pa na hindi nakakaboto, kailangan pabotohin ‘yun,” saad ni Pangarungan.
Dagdag nito, “We can extend the voting hours up to the time we have accommodated everyone within the vicinity of that voting center.”
Pormal na binuksan ang botohan sa halalan bandang 6:00 ng umaga at unang itinakda na matapos bandang 7:00 ng gabi.
