Idineklara ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang na special non-working holiday ang Mayo 9, araw ng eleksyon, sa buong bansa

Base sa Proclamation Number 1357, idineklarang holiday ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na holiday ang Mayo 9 para mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga botante na makaboto sa local at national elections.

Nilagdaan ng Pangulo ang proklamasyon sa araw ng Huwebes, Mayo 5.

Una rito, umapela ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) kay Pangulong Duterte na ideklarang holiday ang Mayo 9.
