Arestado ang isang tauhan ng Metro Manila Development Authority matapos magsagawa ng entrapment operation sa Pasig City.
Kinilala ni MMDA Chairman Romando Artes ang suspek na si MMDA traffic aide Jomar Palata, 40 anyos at nakatalaga sa Office of the Assistant General Manager for Operations.
Nahuli si Palata matapos ang entrapment operation ng High Patrol Group-Special Operations Division.
Isang babae ang nagsumbong sa pulis na kinikikilan at kinokotongan siya ni Palata ng P100,000 kapalit ng pagbiyahe ng kanyang mga commuter vans.
“The MMDA is serious in cleaning its ranks of any wrongdoings as we are likewise very firm in keeping the agency corruption-free,” pahayag ni Artes.
“Anyone who was victimized by erring personnel is encouraged to lodge a complaint in our office for investigation. Proven guilty, the MMDA will not be gentle in meting out punishments for these individuals,” dagdag ni Artes.
Nakakulong na ngayon si Palata at nahaharap sa kasong robbery extortion, grave coercion at usurpation of authority.
