Comelec, may nakahandang contingency plan sakaling may manggulo sa eleksyon

May nakahandang contingency plan ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) sakaling mayroong manggulo sa araw ng eleksyon sa Mayo 9.

Ayon kay Interior Undersecretary spokesman Jonathan Malaya, may nakahandang Civil Disturbance Unit ang Philippine National Police (PNP) para harapin ang mga manggugulo sa eleksyon.

“Iyon pong kung saka-sakali man na may magtangkang i-distract ang ating eleksiyon sa Mayo 9, may contingency plan na po ang Comelec and they have prepared and made ready the Civil Disturbance Unit of the PNP para harapin kung mayroon mang pagtatangka, for example, sa mga radikal na makakaliwang grupo, para i-distract ang ating paparating na halalan,” pahayag ni Malaya.

May checkpoints aniya na itinayo ang PNP.

“Kasama rin po sa tungkulin ng ating kapulisan ay iyong threat assessment sa isang lugar at kung mataas po ang threat assessment, if there is an intense political rivalry, nagdi-deploy din po ang PNP ng additional police officers from the local police station or the Mobile Force Battalion for extra security,” pahayag ni Malaya.
