Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC), sa pamamagitan ng Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Intellectual Property Rights Division (CIIS-IPRD), ang P31,500,000 na halaga ng smuggled na produkto at hindi rehistradong health products sa Sta. Cruz, Maynila noong Abril 19.
Armado ng Letters of Authority (LOA) na inilabas ni BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero, nag-inspeksyon ang CIIS-IPRD, BOC-Port of Manila (POM), National Bureau of Investigation – National Capital Region, at Armed Forces of the Philippines sa dalawang warehouses sa 1005 Ongpin Street, Santa Cruz, Manila at Units A, B, C, at D sa 641 Fernandez Street.
Bago selyuhan ang warehouse, nagsagawa ng inventory sa mga produkto na dapat mayroong registrations at clearances mula sa Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Ilan sa mga nakuhang medical at cosmetic product ang Lianhua Lung Cleansing Tea, Healthy Brain Pills, Gluta Lipo, Lidan Tablets, Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa, Vita herbs at ibang produkto ng Chinese brands.
Aabot sa P9,500,000 ang halaga ng produkto sa warehouses sa 1005 Ongpin Street, habang P22,000,000 sa bahagi ng 642 Fernandez Street.
Hiningan ang nga representante ng dalawang warehouse na magpakita ng importation documents at iba pang permit.
Maliban dito, magsasagawa ng imbestigasyon sa posibleng paglabag sa Customs Modernization and Tariff Act Republic Act (R.A. no. 10863), Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (R.A. 8293), at Food and Drug Administration Act (R.A. 9711).
