Format na presidential at vice presidential town hall debates ng Comelec, hindi na tuloy

Hindi na itutuloy ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) at ng partner nito na Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) ang format na presidential at vice presidential town hall debates bilang concluding event na “PiliPinas Debates 2022 Series.”

Ayon kay Comelec Commissioner Erwin George Garcia, sa halip na debate ang estilo, magiging Single Candidate/Team – Panel Interview na ang format.

“In consideration of the inevitable scheduling conflicts as the candidates approach the homestretch of the campaign period, and as advised by the KBP, the COMELEC will now be adopting a Single Candidate/Team – Panel Interview format,” pahayag ni Garcia.

Paliwanag ni Garcia, hindi kasi magkatugma ang schedule ng mga kandidato lalo’t puspusan na ang kampanya.

I-ere aniya ang COMELEC – KBP Pilipinas Forum 2022 sa Mayo 2 at 6.

Ayon kay Garcia, bibigyan ng tig-isang oras na panel interview ang bawat kandidato.

Ang Comelec na aniya ang mag-aadjust kung gusto ng kandidato na virtual o face-to-face.

Sinabi pa ni Garcia na pre-taped ito at ang Comelec ang mayroong final ‘say’ sa lahat pati na sa editing.

Ayon kay Garcia, ang KBP ang magbibigay ng panelist para magtanong sa mga kandidato.
