Inaprubahan na ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III ang pagkakaroon ng ikalawang booster shots kontra COVID-19 para sa mga immunocompromised persons.
Sa Laging Handa Public Briefing, sinabi ni Duque na ito ay base na rin sa rekomendasyon ng Health Technology Assessment Council na bigyan ng second booster shots ang mga indibidwal na may sakit.
Kabilang na rito ang mga may cancer, mga indibidwal na sumailalim sa organ transplant, mga nagpositibo sa human immunodeficiency virus o HIV, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome o aids at iba pa.
Agad aniyang ilalabas ang implementing rules and regulations sa mga susunod na araw para makapagsimula na ng bakunahan sa second booster shots sa susunod na linggo.
Nilinaw naman ni Duque na hindi pa sakob sa second booster shots ang ga frontline healthcare workers at mga senior citizens.

Una rito, binigyan na ng emergency use authorization ng Food and Drug Adminsitration ang pagbibigay ng second booster shots sa mga immunocompromised, health workers at mga senior citizens.
