Pangongolekta ng buwis sa bansa, lalo pang pinalakas ng BIR

Lalo pang pinalakas ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ang pangongolekta ng buwis sa bansa.

Ayon kay BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay, ito ay dahil sa implementasyon ng digitalization transformation (DX) programs at pagdadagdag ng skilled professionals.

Ayon kay Dulay, umabot sa 4.63 milyong business taxpayers ang nagparehistro noong nakaraang taon sa kabila ng pandemya sa COVID-19.

Nangangahulugan ito ng 5.14 percent increase mula sa 4.41 milyong registered businesses noong 2020.

Simula aniya nang maupo sa puwesto si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, patuloy na lumago ang tax collection ng BIR mula sa P1.58 trillion noong 2016, hanggang sa P1.78 trillion noong 2017 at P1.96 trillion noong 2018.

Pinakamataas aniya ay noong 2019 kung saan pumalo sa P2.19 trillion ang naging tax collection.

Pero bumaba aniya ang koleksyon noong 2020 dahil sa pandemya at umabot lamang sa P1.96 trillion.

Unti-unti naman aniyang nakabawi ang BIR matapos makakolekta ng buwis na P2.08 trillion noong 2021.

“We can attribute our improved performance to our DX programs as well as to our increasing number of young workers who are quicker and more adept at learning digital skills,” pahayag ni Dulay.
