Pormal nang inendorso ng 81 gobernador sa Pilipinas si House Deputy Speaker at Antique Rep. Loren Legarda bilang isa sa kanilang ‘Top 6 senatorial bets’ sa May 9 elections.
Inanunsyo ni Marinduque Governor Presbitero Velasco, Jr., National President ng League of Provinces of the Philippines, ang anim na senatorial candidates na susuportahan sa 2022 elections matapos ang masusing konsultasyon sa mga gobernador.
Ayon kay Velasco, ang three-term senator ang isa sa mga napusuang iendorso ng mga gobernador dahil sa taglay na kakayahan at mahusay na trabaho sa lehislatura sa loob ng halos dalawang dekada.
Nagpasalamat naman ang mambabatas, “I’m honored and sincerely grateful for the league’s endorsement. My inclusion in LPP’s list is a recognition of many years of hard work and dedication to help uplift the lives of our countrymen.”
Pangako nito, “Once reelected to the Senate, I will help push the projects and advocacies of our beloved governors.”
Bukod kay Legarda, kabilang din sa ‘Top 6 senatorial candidates’ sina Senators Juan Miguel Zubiri, Joel Villanueva at Sherwin Gatchalian, at maging sina Sec. Mark Villar at Sorsogon Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero.
