P2.95-B back taxes nasingil, 523 negosyo ipinasara ng BIR

Nakasingil ang Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ng P2.95 bilyong back taxes noong nakaraang taon at ipinasara ang 523 establismento dahil sa ibat-ibang paglabag sa tax code.

Sinabi ni Tax Comm. Caesar Dulay umabot sa 120,220 establismento sa buong bansa ang sumailalim sa kanilang inspection  at karagdagang P122.4 milyon na multa ang kanilang nasingil.

Sa ilalim ng Run After Tax Evaders (RATE) program, 137 kaso ang isinampa ng kawanihan sa Department of Justice (DOJ) para sa tax liabilities na P4.4 bilyon.

Naghain din ng 17 kaso sa Court of Tax Appeals para naman sa tinatayang tax liabilities na P1.4 bilyon.

Kabuuang P3.91 bilyon naman na ang nalolekta mula sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

Ang mga datos na ito ay nakapaloob sa ulat ni Dulay kay Finance Sec. carlos Dominguez III.
