Nanguna si Senate President Franklin Drilon sa senatorial race na siya ring vice chairman ng Liberal Party na may kabuuang boto na 18,607,391.
Hindi naman malayo sa kanya ang botong 18,459,222 ni dating TESDA director Joel Villanueva na dati ring kinatawan sa kamara ng Cibac party-list group.
Si Sen. Vicente Sotto III ng Nationalist People’s Coalition ang nasa ikatlong puwesto na mayroong 17,200,371 votes, na sinundan nina dating Senador Panfilo Lacson na nakakuha ng 16,926,152 votes at Richard Gordon na mayroong 16,719,322 mga boto.
Pasok din sa Magic 12 sina:
- 6th: former Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri (Independent) — 16,119,165 votes;
- 7th: Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao (UNA) — 16,050,546 votes;
- 8th: dating Sen. Francis Pangilinan (LP) — 15,955,949 votes;
- 9th: dating Akbayan Rep. Risa Hontiveros (Akbayan/LP) — 15,915,213 votes;
- 10th: Valenzuela City Rep. Sherwin Gatchalian (NPC) — 14,953,768 votes;
- 11th: reelectionist Sen. Ralph Recto (LP) — 14,271,868 votes;
- 12th: dating Justice Sec. Leila de Lima (LP) — 14,144,070 votes.
Nauna dito ay tinangka pang harangin sa Supreme Court ni dating Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino ang proklamasyon ng mga nanalong senador.
Gusto ni Tolentino na muling magkaroon ng bilangan ng boto mula sa ika-sampu hanggang sa 13th place kung saan siya naka-pwesto base sa pinakahuling bilangan ng mga boto.
