Comelec: “This debate is purely voluntary”

Nagpahayag ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) ukol sa panawang paruhasan sina Presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong Marcos Jr. at Vice Presidential candidate “Inday” Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Bunsod ito ng hindi pagdalo nina Marcos at Duterte sa inorganisang presidential at vice presidential debates ng Comelec nitong March 19 at March 20.

Ayon kay Comelec Chairman Saidamen Balt Pangarungan, boluntaryo ang pagdalo sa debate.

“This debate is purely voluntary. Hindi natin pwedeng pilitin ‘yung mga kandidato na ayaw sumama,” saad nito.

Dagdag nito, “Well, may mga sanction, of course. Like those candidates who refuse to participate without any justifiable reason, we can deprive them with availing of the e-rally.”

Ani Pangarungan, “And of course, ang pinakamalaking sanction is the failure to present their platform to the Filipino people.”

Binati naman ng Comelec chair ang mga dumalong kumakandidato sa pagka-presidente at bise presidente, moderators, at organizers mula sa kanilang hanay.
