SP Tito Sotto nabahala sa ‘data breach’ sa operasyon ng Smartmatic

Nagpahayag ng matinding pagkabahala si Senate President Vicente Sotto III sa integridad ng papalapit na eleksyon matapos makumpirma ang nangyaring ‘data breach’ sa operasyon ng Smartmatic.

Sinabi ni Sotto na kung kinakailangan ay magkakaroon pa ng pagdinig sa Senado para malaman ang lawak ng ‘data breach.’

“I am concerned that our election gatekeepers lacked in ensuring the integrity of the May 9 elections. The people’s right to an honest and credible election is enshrined in our Constitution and the Comelec is tasked to ensure that the results of the elections are not tainted with doubt and especially that the conduct of the electoral exercise was not attended by anomalies,” sabi pa nito.

Puna lang din nito, hindi agad humirit ng executive session ang Comelec sa Joint Congressional Oversight Committee ng mangyari ang insidente.

Dagdag pa ni Sotto, dapat ay agad nang umamin ang Comelec at hindi basta na lamang inutusan ang Smartmatic na huwag magbigay ng pahayag.

Nagbunga ito aniya ng hindi na pakikipagtulungan ng Smartmatic sa mga nag-iimbestigang ahensiya.

Isinalarawan ni Sen. Imee Marcos, namumuno sa Senate Committee on Electoral Reforms, na ‘very serious’ ang nangyaring insidente.
