Itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Attorney Dante Vargas bilang bagong deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas.

Ito ang kinumpirma ni Presidential acting deputy spokesman Kris Ablan.

Papalitan ni Vargas si dating Deputy Ombudsman Paul Elmer Clemente.

Ayon kay Ablan, manunungkulan si Vargas ng pitong taon.

Nabatid na isa sa mga naging contender sa pagiging deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas si dating Commission on Elections commissioner Rowena Guanzon.
