Palparan pasok sa Magic 12 ng local absentee voting
Kasama sa “Magic 12” sa resulta ng local absentee voting ang tinaguriang “The Butcher” na si dating Philippine Army Maj. Gen. Jovito Palparan.
Mula sa kabuuang bilang na 19,255 na boto sa ginanap na 3-day local absentee voting noong buwan ng Abril, nakakuha si Palparan ng 7,481 votes.
Kabilang sa mga lumahok sa nasabing botohan ay ang mga miyembro ng media, mga opisyal at tauhan ng pamahalaan, Philippine National Police at Armed Forces of the Philippines na hindi pwedeng bumoto sa nakalipas na May 9 elections dahil sila naka-duty.
Si Palparan kasama ang ilang mga dati at kasalukuyang opisyal ng militar ay itinuturong responsable sa pagdukot sa mga Univeristy of the Philippines (U.P) students na sina Karen Empeño at Sherilyn Cadapan.
Nanguna sa local absentee voting si dating Sen. Ping Lacson na mayroong 13, 779 votes.
Siya ay sinundan nina former senator Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri na mayroong 11,411 votes at dating senador Richard Gordon na may 10,789 votes.
Pasok din sa Magic 12 sa ginanap na local absentee voting sina Senate President Franklin Drilon, Sarangani representative Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao, reelectionist senators Sergio “Serge” Osmeña III, Ralph Recto at Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan at reelectionist senator Teofisto “TG” Guingona III.
