Clearance certificate ng isang kongresista na galing sa Ombudsman, kinuwestiyon

Kinuwestiyon ang naging pahayag ni Quezon Province 2nd District Rep. David ‘Jayjay’ Suarez na walang nakabinbing criminal at administrative cases laban sa kaniya.

Noong February 21, ipinakita ng mambabatas sa isang press conference sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang clearance certificate mula Office of the Ombudsman.

Nakasaad sa nasabing dokumento na walang nakabinbing kaso laban sa kanya hanggang December 10, 2021.

Ngunit base naman sa isang ulat, mayroon umanong apat na kasong kinakaharap ang mambabatas sa Ombudsman.

Kabilang dito ang mga sumusunod: Fidel P. Verdad, Jr. vs. David Suarez (June 29, 2020); Diego Magpantay, National President Citizen’s Crime Watch Association, Inc. (CCW) vs. David Suarez, et. Al. (November 4, 2020); Leonito T. Batugon, Antonio Almoneda, Marife A. Benusa and Mauro G. Forneste vs. David C. Suarez, et. al. (December 14, 2020); at Vicente J. Alcala vs. David Suarez (May 17, 2021).

Dahil dito, noong February 21, nagpadala ng liham si Atty. Frumencio Pulgar upang maglabas ng bagong clearance certificate. Natanggap naman ito ng Ombudsman noong February 24.
