Sinabi ni BI Port Operations Division Chief Atty. Carlos Capulong na nagpapatupad na ng 100 porsyentong on-site work capacity at nagpatuloy na rin ang kanilang pre-pandemic shifting schedule.
“From around 8,000 daily passengers on the first week of implementation of our opened borders, we are now seeing more than 9,000 daily passengers,” ani Capulong.
Dagdag nito, “We are expecting this gradual increase as we transition to the new normal.”
Maari aniyang umabot sa 10,000 hanggang 15,000 ang itataas ng datos sa mga susunod na buwan.
Samantala, ipinag-utos naman ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente ang border operations upang mapaghandaan ang inaasahang pagdagsa ng mga biyahero.
“We expect the number of travelers to further increase as the summer season approaches,” ani Morente.
Saad pa nito, “This is a step towards the much-needed recovery of the tourism sector.”
