Handa ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) at iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno sa pagbaba ng National Capital Region (NCR) sa Alert Level 1.
Sa pagbaba ng alert level sa Kalakhang Maynila, ipinatupad na ang 100 porsyentong passenger capacity sa mga pampublikong transportasyon.
“Converting from Alert Level 2 to Alert Level 1, masasabi ko ‘ho na sa mga nagawa at gagawin pa namin, handa ang Department of Transportation and we support the move to lower to Alert Level 1, following the guidance and mandates of the IATF,” pahayag ni Secretary Art Tugade.
Noong Lunes, iprinisinta ng kalihim kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at sa mga miyembro ng Gabinete ang road-based transport programs at projects upang matugunan ang pangangailangan sa public transport.
Sinabi ni Tugade na nakatakdang buksan ang karagdagang 71 ruta na may 8,729 public utility vehicle (PUV) units bago ang March 15, 2022 para madagdagan ang kasalukuyang 1,514 ruta na may 118,238 operating units sa NCR.
Ipagpapatuloy din aniya ang pag-iral ng Service Contracting Program, na sakop ang operasyon ng Libreng Sakay at regular payouts para sa PUV operators at drivers.
Ani Tugade, “Marami nang Senador at Congressman ang nag-eendorse ng Libreng Sakay dahil nakita ‘ho nila that the public accepts this Libreng Sakay.”
Kabuuang P2.5 bilyon ang inilaan para sa fuel subsidies para sa 377,443 beneficiaries. Bawat benepisyaryo ay makatatanggap ng P6,500 halaga ng fuel subsidy.
Pagdidiin pa ni Tugade, nadagdagan ng EDSA busway ang mobility ng commuter.
Bilang suporta sa active transport, magdadagdag din ang DOTr ng dagdag na bike lanes sa buong bansa.
