Mahigit 6,000 indigent couples, ikinasal

Aabot sa mahigit 6,000 couples at live-in partners ang ikinasal sa Quezon City.

Ayon kay Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, bahagi ito ng month-long Kasalang Bayan program ng pamahalaang lungsod.

Ayon kay Belmonte, ilan sa mga ikinasal na 6,233 indigent ay nagsasaka na ng mahigit apat na dekada.

Libre aniya ang kasalang bayan.

Ayon kay Belmonte, maaring palitan na ang estado ng mga anak ng magagawa mula sa dating illegitimate status bilang ligitimate children.

“Our Kasalang Bayan primarily aims to provide support to indigent couples who are already living together but are unable to pay for a ceremony due to economic constraints. But more than that, we want to give them and their kids the rights they deserve as they are now legally bonded,” pahayag ni Belmonte.

Nabatid na si Belmonte ang nagsilbing marriage officiant sa kasalang bayan.

May traditional cake-cutting, wine tasting at mga regalo ang mga bagong kasal mula sa kanilang mga ninong at ninang.
