Matapos ang 14 taong pagtatago, naaresto sa ikinasang manhunt police operations ang dalawang rape suspects sa Mondragon, Northern Samar.
Ayon kay PNP Chief, Police General Dionardo Carlos, nahuli ng mga awtoridad sina Elmar Sabedoria Ballonico alyas “Latik,” 35-anyos, Nonito Corong Fajardo alyas “Quiling,” 33-anyos.
Sina Ballonico at Fajardo ay una at ikaapat na most wanted persons sa Mondragon dahil sa kasong rape sa 16-anyos na dalagita noong 2008.
Sinabi ni Carlos na nahuli ang dalawang rape suspects sa bisa ng arrest warrant na inilabas ni Hon. Judge Alma Consuelo Desales-Esidera ng RTC Branch 20 sa Catarman, Northern Samar.
“As part of our ongoing anti-criminality measures thru Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), our local police will continue to strengthen manhunt operations against most wanted persons with standing warrants of arrest to give justice to the victims of the crimes committed,” saad ng hepe ng PNP.
