U.S. Embassy, nag-donate ng P4.2-M halaga ng videoconferencing tools sa SC

Nag-abot ang United States Embassy in the Philippines ng $83,000 o P4.2 milyong halaga ng kagamitan sa Supreme Court upang masuportahan ang pangangailangan sa videoconferencing.

Ayon sa embahada, nag-donate ang Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) ng U.S. State Department ng mga kagamitan kabilang ang siyam na units ng videoconferencing tools, siyam na 55-inch TV, isang professional high-bright teleprompter, at iba pang accessories.

“This equipment will be used by the Supreme Court—and distributed to several lower courts—to support videoconferencing of hearings and to mitigate risks associated with in-person engagements during the pandemic,” saad ng embahada.

Kabilang sa donasyon ang Training Registration and Management System, isang browser-based data collection system na nakaprograma at idinesenyo upang matulungan ang Philippine Judicial Academy sa pamamahala ng mga nakakalap na impormasyon at datos sa mga seminar.

Samantala, tinakalay din nina U.S. Embassy in the Philippines Chargé d’Affaires (CDA) ad interim Heather Variava at SC Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo ang judicial reforms.

Nagpasalamat naman si Gesmundo sa patuloy na suporta ng U.S. government.
