‘Sitff sanctions’ ipapataw sa mga kandidato, tagasuporta na lalabag sa election campaign rules – DILG

Inihayag ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) na ilang linggo na ang kanilang paghahanda para sa nalalapit na 2022 National and Local Elections.

Sa Laging Handa press briefing, sinabi ni DILG Undersecretary at spokesperson Jonathan Malaya na tuloy pa rin ang kanilang pakikipag-ugnayan sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) kasabay ng pagsisimula ng campaign period sa araw ng Martes, February 8.

“May mga direktiba na si Sec. Eduardo Año sa ating kapulisan at LGUs, kasama na rin po ang barangay officials, na kailangan ay mahigpit na ipatupad ang Comelec Resolution 10732, partikular sa Sector 12, 14, 15 and 16 doon sa mga tinatawag nating allowable campaign activities,” saad nito.

Inatasan na rin aniya ng kalihim ang kanilang field officers na maging aktibong miyembro ng Comelec campaign committee.

Babala ng DILG, magpapataw ng ‘stiff sanctions’ sa mga kandidato at tagasuporta na lalabag sa election campaign rules.

“Ang penalties po ay depende sa violation,” ani Malaya.
