“I would like to announce that I’m resigning as the MMDA chairman.”
Ito ang naging anunsiyo ni Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benhur Abalos ukol sa pagbibitiw sa pwesto, Lunes ng umaga (February 7).
Sa isang press conference, ipinaliwanag nito na tututukan niya ang kanyang tungkulin bilang national campaign manager ni presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“The campaign period is fast approaching and I would need to devote my time to Senator Bongbong Marcos’ campaign as his national campaign manager. While I am extremely saddened by this, I wish the agency success in its every program, project, and initiative for the betterment of the metropolis,” ani Abalos.
Nagbigay na aniya siya ng mga instruction sa MMDA gemeral manager ukol sa pagpapatuloy ng mga programa laban sa COVID-19.
Naisumite na aniya aniya ang kaniyang resignation letter kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Nagpasalamat naman si Abalos sa Punong Ehekutibo para sa ibinigay na suporta.
Si Abalos din ang campaign manager ni Marcos noong 2016.
