Nagsimula na ang unang araw ng 2020/2021 Bar examinations bandang 8:00, Biyernes ng umaga (February 4).
Ayon kay Associate Justice Marvic M.V.F. Leonen, 2021 Bar Examinations Chairperson, nasa 11,387 examinees ang kukuha ng exam sa 31 local testing sites mula sa 22 local government units (LGUs) sa buong bansa.
Mayroon aniyang itinalagang testing site sa General Santos City, Davao, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Iloilo, Bacolod, Cebu, Tacloban, Dumaguete, Lipa City, Nueva Vizcaya, Angeles, Baguio, La Union, at ilang lugar sa Metro Manila.
“This is the largest batch of Bar examinees and it is the batch that will fulfill the lack of new lawyers that happened between the last two years because of the pandemic,” ani Leonen.
Umabot aniya sa 96.5 porysento ang turnout ng examinees sa unang araw ng eksaminasyon.
“96.5 percent turnout is a good number, specifically because of the pandemic that is still raging in various parts of our country,” saad nito.
11,790 examinees aniya ang nagbayad ng at 11,405 ang nag-download ng exam files.
Samantala, nasa 8,461 examinees ang sumailalim sa Supreme Court-administered antigen test. Sa nasabing bilang, 1.36 porsyento ang lumabas na positibo sa COVID-19.
Nilinaw din ni Justice Leonen na hindi totoo ang ilang kumakalat na ulat na kapag nagpositibo ay hindi na makakakuha ng naturang eksaminasyon.
Sinunod aniya nila ang mga panuntunan ng Department of Health (DOH) at lokal na pamahalaan na kapag nagpositibo at tapos na sa isolation period, maikokonsidera na ito bilang recovered case.
Sa testing sites, sinabi ni Leonen na nakahiwalay ang mga bakunado at hindi.
Isinagawa aniya ang eksaminasyon sa digital format. Dahil dito, karamihan sa mga examinee ay nagdala ng sariling laptop.
