Tatlong panukala sa Senado sumusuporta sa pagbuo ng National Center for Geriatric Health
Nagbunga ang pagpupursige ni Senior Citizen Partylist Representative Rodolfo ‘Ompong’ Ordanes nang suportahan ng tatlong panukala sa Senado ang panukala niyang pagpapalakas sa National Center for Geriatric Health.
Ibinahagi ni Ordanes na may katulad na panukala sina Sens. Grace Poe, Risa Hontiveros at Koko Pimentel.
Sinabi nito na kapag naaprubahan ang House Bill No. 10697 mas mapapagbuti ang pagbibigay ng atensyon at serbisyo sa mga pasyenteng senior citizens.
“As a charter, HB 10697 provides for a range of powers, mandates and scope of services, on delivering health services to older adult patients, ranging from and including training of health professionals. Establishment of and technical assistance to geriatric specialty centers nationwide and setting standards on geriatric health care,” ang pagbabahagi ng namumuno sa House Special Committee on Senior Citizens.
Itatag ang NCGH mula sa kasalukuyang Geriatric Unit ng Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center.
Una nang naaprubahan sa Kamara sa third at final reading ang House Bill No. 10697.
Sinabi pa ng mambabatas na noong Lunes lumusot na rin sa 3rd reading ang panukalang pag-amyenda sa Centenarias Act para mabigyan ng P1 milyon ang mga aabot sa edad 101.
