BI, naghahanda na sa inaasahang pagdagsa ng mga turista sa bansa
Naghahanda na ang mga tauhan ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa mga paliparan dahil sa inaasahang pagdagsa ng international passengers kasunod ng desisyon ng gobyerno na muling buksan ang bansa sa mga dayuhang turista simula sa February 10.
“We are ready and we have the available manpower to address this projected increase in passenger volume in our airports,” pahayag ni Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente.
Iniulat din nito ang pagbaba ng bilang ng immigration officers na positibo pa rin sa COVID-19.
Sa datos hanggang January 31, nasa 401 BI personnel, karamihan ay nakatalaga sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), ang nakabalik na sa trabaho.
“We continue to operate at full capacity in the airports as we anticipate an increase in international flights and passengers in the next few weeks,” dagdag ng BI Chief.
Ayon naman kay Atty. Carlos Capulong, BI Port Operations Chief, tanging 23 immigration officers na naka-assign sa mga paliparan ang nagre-recover pa sa COVID-19.
14 aniya sa nasabing mga tauhan ang nakatalaga sa NAIA, apat sa Clark airport, dalawa sa Mactan, dalawa sa Kalibo, at isa sa Davao.
“To cope with a sudden or unusual increase in passenger volume we have formed a reserve team of immigration officers from other BI offices who will be tapped to augment and assist our frontliners at the airport if the need arises,” ani Capulong.
Inabisuhan naman ng BI ang mga airline company at pasahero na alamin ang pinakahuling alituntunin sa website at Facebook page ng ahensya.
